I’m Katie Cates (get it-ModifiCATES? I know, how clever). That’s Elliot. We were married last year, and bought a great little 1,770 sqft 1980s fixer-upper house in the home of our alma mater, Texas A&M University.
We’re just two 20-somethings that love DIY projects. We're both stubborn, and love to argue about the right way to do things around the house (I usually lose these arguments, *shakes head*) There are plenty of ups and downs with each project, but all that hard work is worth the leisure-free weekends in the end!
Mr. Cates' favorite quote (from the Red Green Show) is this: “If women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.” And he is. Very handy. But also very handsome! I guess I just got lucky.

Elliot has a slight obsession with tools, boats, and guns (he’s ALWAYS looking for a good deal), and I, well I’m kind of addicted to crafting, and lately, gardening.
